GLEN COVE, NY.- Roland Auctions NY will present a specially curated single-owner auction of over 200 Hermes silk scarves, most in their original boxes, from the personal collection of World War II legend Rosalind P. Walter, also known as the original “Rosie the Riveter” on Saturday, June 8th at 11am. This eclectic collection of vintage designer scarves includes Hermes, Gucci, Chanel, and more. Trailblazer “Rosie the Riveter” was a cultural icon in the United States, representing the women who worked in factories and shipyards during World War II. She also served as the star of a campaign aimed at recruiting female workers for defense industries during the war and became the subject and title of a Hollywood film in 1944.

In later years, Rosalind P. Walter was a philanthropist who was best known for her late 20th and early 21st century support for public television programming across the United States. She passed away in New York in 2020.
