Historic Treasures: Napoleon, Newton, and Lincoln shine in Fine Autographs and Artifacts auction
Napoleon Rare Handwritten Letter in English to Emmanuel, comte de Las Cases (One of Three Known). Now At: $7,365 (5 bids). Estimate: $60,000+.

BOSTON, MASS.- RR Auction announced its highly anticipated June Fine Autographs and Artifacts sale, featuring nearly 800 lots of rare and remarkable items. This extraordinary event will highlight significant autographs and artifacts from some of history's most influential figures.

Among the exceptional pieces are:

• Napoleon Bonaparte Rare Handwritten Letter in English playfully criticizing his tutor's work. An excessively rare handwritten letter in English—one of only three known—by Bonaparte, playfully criticizing his tutor's work. This rare unsigned handwritten one-page letter, dated March 6, 1816, is addressed to French atlas-maker and author Emmanuel, comte de Las Cases, who accompanied Napoleon on his exile to Saint Helena. Napoleon's playful letter, addressed to "Sir Count Lascases," humorously critiques Las Cases' celebrated atlas. The letter is accompanied by a hardcover edition of Las Cases' Le Mémorial de Sainte-Hélène, in which the present letter is referenced. This letter, along with two others, are the only known English letters by Napoleon and provide unique insight into his relationship with Las Cases and his study of the English language. (Estimate: $60,000+)

• Isaac Newton Handwritten Manuscript Fragment on Religion. This unsigned one-page handwritten manuscript fragment by Sir Isaac Newton, dating circa 1700, offers profound insight into his religious thoughts. The eight-line fragment, alongside four marginal citations, appears to be from an unpublished theological work by Newton. An extraordinary and insightful piece, it reflects Newton's deep engagement with the theological debates of his time. (Estimate: $10,000+)

• Led Zeppelin II Signed Album. A rare UK vinyl pressing of the 1969 album, signed by Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, John Bonham, and John Paul Jones. These autographs were obtained at Usher Hall in Edinburgh, Scotland, on February 17, 1970. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity and a detailed letter of provenance from the original recipient, this album is a must-have for any rock music aficionado. (Estimate: $25,000+)

• Bruce Lee Signed Membership Card for the First Jun Fan Gung Fu Institute. A perfectly graded, unissued 'blue stripe' student membership card for Bruce Lee's Jun Fan Gung Fu Institute of Seattle, Washington. Signed boldly by Bruce Lee, this card is encapsulated and graded by PSA/DNA as "GEM MT 10," representing an unparalleled example of this highly sought-after item. (Estimate: $10,000+)

• George Washington Signed Document. A beautifully signed 1771 manuscript document by George Washington, graded "PSA NM-MT 8." This document highlights Washington's role in land surveys, a significant part of his wealth accumulation. The bold signature and historical significance make it a valuable collector's piece. (Estimate: $8,000+)

• Abraham Lincoln Civil War-Dated Pardon. An 1864 presidential pardon warrant signed by Abraham Lincoln. This document, signed during the Civil War, demonstrates Lincoln's humane leadership through his extensive use of the presidential pardon power. It features a bold, full signature by Lincoln. (Estimate: $8,000+)

• Albert Einstein Signed Photograph Inscribed to Karl Marx's Great-Grandson. A rare signed portrait of Albert Einstein, inscribed to Robert-Jean Longuet, the great-grandson of Karl Marx. This vintage semi-glossy close-up photograph by Herman Landshoff captures Einstein in a candid and artistic manner, making it a unique and valuable piece. (Estimate: $5,000+)

• World War II Section. This special section includes a presidential card signed by the Allied' Big Three'—Franklin D. Roosevelt, Winston Churchill, and Joseph Stalin. Also featured are scarce war photographs, a Normandy invasion flag from the USS Burnett County (LST-512), and autographs by Dwight D. Eisenhower, Anthony 'Nuts' McAuliffe, Chester Nimitz, and J. Robert Oppenheimer.

The Fine Autograph and Artifacts auction by RR Auction began on May 22 and will conclude on June 12.
