LOS ANGELES, CA.- Song-Word Art House is now showing an exciting new exhibition – “Echoes of The Flame: Art Inspired by the Lyrics of James Brown.” Opened on February 10, the exhibit celebrates the music of the legendary performer and pay tribute to his songwriting that continues to influence contemporary musicians and audiences around the world. In collaboration with Primary Wave Music and the James Brown Estate, this unique exhibition brings together a collection of original artworks by internationally acclaimed artists from around the world, celebrating the enduring power and inspiration found in the lyrics of James Brown's illustrious musical career.

“Echoes Of The Flame” will run through March 24, 2024, at Song-Word Art House located on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood.

“Echoes Of The Flame" transcends traditional boundaries, featuring a diverse collection of canvases, sculptures, and mixed media artworks. Each piece is a visual exploration of the meaning and impact of Brown's lyrics, and his ability to turn lyrics into transformative forces. From the rhythmic affirmations of "I Got You (I Feel Good)" to the narrative economy of “Try Me", Brown's influence transcends generations, shaping the very soul of popular music and profoundly influencing the evolution of funk, soul, and hip-hop music.

James Brown, renowned for his dynamism and innovation, is celebrated in this exhibition for his ability to distill life's complexities into catchy, groove-infused anthems. His lyrics, showcased in iconic songs like "Say It Loud – I'm Black and I'm Proud," served as a bullhorn for the civil rights movement, transforming social issues into rhythmic declarations of empowerment.

The launch of the exhibition is timed to coincide with the premiere of new A&E docu-series "Say It Loud!" inspired by the life of James Brown and executive produced by Mick Jagger and Questlove.
