Invader (French), POTI_50, 2022. Tile mosaic. The mosaic (designated POTI_50) was affixed to the side of a building on Roncal Street (across from the Plaza Waychu) in Potosi, Bolivia in 2022 as part of Invader's 4,000th art installation series.

LOS ANGELES, CA.- Julien’s Auctions presents “Street Art” a curated collection of some of the most important and revolutionary works created originally in the shadows, on the streets and walls of urban public spaces that display the power of this genre will be offered. The most talked about and controversial artists of our time whose works have changed the world and established the Street Art phenomenon including Banksy, Invader, RETNA, Jamie Reid, Billy Morrison, Louis Waldon, Jeff Hamilton, and Jorge Jimenez-Deredia and many others.

Renowned and enigmatic British artist Banksy: Iconic works of Banksy will headline this auction event: “Gangsta Rat Live,” an original aerosol on metal door - mounted in an acrylic shadowbox frame. The aerosol painting executed on a British Telecom street box in Liverpool, England, circa 2004, reportedly during the Liverpool Biennial contemporary art festival in September of that year, during which Banksy produced a number of artworks throughout the city. The artwork was documented in the Banksy’s own publication, Cut It Out.

Banksy’s "Turf War - Police Van Chimp" London Stencil Painting, an original aerosol painting on glass, executed by Banksy as part of his “Turf War” exhibition, which was staged in an abandoned London warehouse in the summer of 2003. Banksy’s Turf War exhibition is widely considered his breakthrough work which contains his unique signature of combined animal, political, and pop culture imagery.

"Mayfair Paparazzi Rat" is an original Banksy aerosol painting executed on a wooden door panel on Trebeck Street in the Mayfair District of London, England in circa 2006. The door is believed to have originally been part of a restaurant knowns as Tiddy Dols Eating House (reportedly named after an 18th century gingerbread seller) and is now the home of an exclusive private members club called Loulou’s that has hosted such celebrities as Taylor Swift, Tom Cruise, and Kate Middleton.

Famed French street artist Invader: Invader’s signature ceramic tile creations of arcade game aliens such as Space Invaders and other popular video games have captivated the art and auction world. Five of them will be come down to Earth at Julien’s Street Art auction including Invader's original "POTI-50", his mosaic installed last year in Potosí, Bolivia, a town 4,000 feet above sea level that was affixed to the side of a building on Roncal street (across from the Plaza Waychu) in Potosi, Bolivia in 2022, in celebration of his 4,000th mosaic. Potosi was picked as the destination for the artist’s 4,000th installation because the altitude of the historic mining town is 4,000 feet.
