ATLANTA, GA.- Prepare to be swept away in a surreal celebration of love and nostalgia as
Underground Atlanta welcomes their creative director and resident artist, Mike Stasny's monumental art installation, "Millennial Pink." This giant inflatable, standing at thirty-feet-tall, is a whimsical tribute to the millennial generation and is set to debut just in time for the month of love, February 2024.
Stasny's creation promises a ludicrously captivating experience, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in a surreal embrace of art and emotion. "Millennial Pink" captures the essence of an entire generation, blending the bold with the muted, reflecting the complex journey of millennials through an ever-evolving world.
I could never say with complete confidence what truly makes generational identities. Having been born in 1981, I apparently represent the first year of Millennials. As the most senior breed of Millennials, what better way to represent my generation than a giant thirty-foot monolith of inflated spheres showing off our color? said Mike Stasny, Resident Artist at MOM SAID ITS FINE and Co-Creative Director at Underground Atlanta.

"The launch of Millennial Pink at Underground Atlanta shines a spotlight on the incredible power of collaborative art to enliven and celebrate the heart of our city," said Fredalyn M. Frasier, Project Director of Planning and Urban Design at the Atlanta Downtown Improvement District. "This installation highlights how innovative, fun, and unique projects can transform Downtown Atlanta into a vibrant hub of creativity and community engagement. Working with our partners at Underground Atlanta including artist Mike Stasny, we are not just supporting art; we are crafting experiences that bring people together and continue to shape the art and culture landscape of Downtown Atlanta.
The color pink evolved from symbolizing gender equality to representing youth and innocence. It holds a special place in the hearts of millennials, invoking memories of childhood comforts amid the challenges of debt and the financial crisis. This playful shade serves as a neutral, yet its warmth brings life to any space, making it the perfect backdrop for Stasny's larger-than-life creation.
Make Underground Atlanta your destination this February and complete your 2024 Valentine checklist with "Millennial Pink" as the backdrop to your celebrations. Share the love, capture the moment, and immerse yourself in the absurdly wonderful world of Mike Stasny's tribute to the millennial generation.
