ANTWERP.- ArtDependence Magazine has shared that a selection of paintings by 95-year-old artist Roland Debucquoy will be on view at the ArtDependence Concept Store until February 15th. Roland Debucquoy, was born in 1928 in a small town in West Flanders, Belgium, where he worked as a physician, but his heart and soul were always intertwined with the world of art.

Roland Debucquoy has worked passionately with brushes and chisels, creating a diverse body of work that reflects his deep connection to the artistic realm. His sculptural masterpiece, "De Vlasser," is recognized as cultural heritage and is located in Wielsbeke.

Using his memory as inspiration, Debucquoy breathes new life into landscapes and still lifes in his paintings. His artistry is marked by a profound play with light, infusing his canvases with a vividness that allows viewers to experience the subtle nuances of morning or afternoon light, the gentle glow of sunrise or the captivating colors of a sunset.

Roland Debucquoy's oeuvre is a tribute to the bygone eras, with clear echoes of the 19th and early 20th-century styles. Influenced by the brilliance of Flemish masters and the unmistakable brushstrokes of the French impressionists, Debucquoy's works encapsulate the essence of artistic evolution across time and borders.

Despite the smaller dimensions of his paintings, there is an undeniable richness and depth to Roland Debucquoy's art that captivates and transcends scale. His paintings, like windows to a bygone era, invite viewers into a world where each stroke of the brush tells a story.

Now, at the age of 95, Roland Debucquoy finds himself in the spotlight, receiving the recognition that his lifelong dedication to the arts so rightfully deserves. Reflecting on this newfound attention, he humbly remarks, "Art has its own pace, and perhaps, like fine wine, it takes time to be truly appreciated." Roland Debucquoy proves that creativity knows no age and that the pursuit of passion can continue to blossom and inspire, even at the age of 95.
