NEW YORK, NY.- Clio Art Fair is a contemporary art fair that focuses on showcasing independent artists without exclusive gallery representation in NYC. It is held biannually in May and September. The fair is known for its democratic approach to art and its emphasis on showcasing artists from a wide range of backgrounds and styles. The fair is named after Clio, the Greek Muse of History and Poetry, and is intended to give artists a platform to create a legacy through their work.

Clio Art Fair was created in 2014 by Alessandro Berni to offer a fresh and alternative perspective on the traditional art fair model and to challenge the traditional art market’s methodologies. Clio is an alternative to more established art fairs which are often dominated by big galleries and high-priced artwork.

Clio Art Fair aims to create an intimate and approachable environment where artists and collectors interact directly. Unlike traditional art fairs, the Clio Art Fair does not have large booths or commercial galleries. Instead, each artist is given their own exhibition space to display their work.

The fair features a diverse range of contemporary art, including painting, sculpture, photography, and mixed media. It also offers a wide range of performances.

Clio Art Fair has gained a reputation for being a supportive and welcoming environment for emerging artists, and has been praised for its inclusivity and diversity. The fair is known for showcasing independent and emerging artists who have yet to receive widespread recognition, and it has attracted a growing audience of art collectors, curators, and enthusiasts who are looking for something new and exciting in the contemporary art world.

The Clio project, born on the fifth floor of the Wolf Building in Chelsea in 2014, has outgrown its original digs in Chelsea, and graduated to a street-level space, beginning from the March 2018 edition. This move, as expected, has helped to guarantee greater exposure, more visitors, a higher percentage of sales, and basically more of everything compared to the first editions. For the last three years, Clio has been hosted into a contemporary luxury building at 550 W 29th street, in the exclusive Hudson Yard neighborhood.

Overall, Clio Art Fair is a must-see event for anyone interested in contemporary art. Whether you're a seasoned collector or a first-time visitor, the fair offers a welcoming and engaging experience that you won’t want to miss!

Adding to the innovative nature of its vision, Clio is the first art fair to accept primary crypto-values as a form of payment: Bitcoin, Ethereum since 2017; Doge since 2020. Furthermore, Clio has endorsed NFT Academy (Nftacademy.cc) since 2021.
