MONTROSE, N.Y.- Photojournalist Slim Aarons, 89, died due to complications of a heart attack and a stroke. He once said that he was "photographing attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places." His full name was George Allen "Slim" Aarons.
For more than five decades Slim Aarons photographed some of the most famous people. Among them were Humphrey Bogart, Louis Armstrong, Lauren Bacall, Marilyn Monroe, Princess Diana and the Kennedys. One of his most famous photograph was that of Clark Gable, Van Heflin, Gary Cooper and Jimmy Stewart laughing as they stood around a bar at Romanoff's restaurant in Hollywood on New Year's Eve in 1957. This show was later known as "the Kings of Hollywood."
