Kapil Dev makes a bold statement for Suryakumar Yadav

Who is Kapil Dev?
Right-handed fast bowler Kapil Dev Ramlal Nikhanj, also known as Kapil Dev, had a strong outswing and was India's primary bowler for the most of his career. He served the Haryana cricket team and went by the moniker "The Haryana Hurricane."

One of India's all-time finest captains is Kapil Dev. He became the first Indian captain to win the Cricket World Cup when the Indian Cricket team won the 1983 tournament under his leadership.

Kapil was a sports-loving child from an early age, and it was because of his love of sports that he was exposed to cricket at a very young age.

On November 1975, he faced Punjab in his first-class debut for Haryana and claimed a 6-wicket haul. He didn't have to wait long to establish himself as one of India's first well-known speed bowlers.

The versatility of Kapil's skills set him unique. Kapil was able to hit huge shots at important times as well as bowl with speed and swing.

In 2002, Kapil Dev won the poll for India's Cricketer of the Century, beating out Sachin Tendulkar and Sunil Gavaskar. He also received the Wisden Indian Cricketer of the Year award that year.

How much has Kapil Dev earned till now?
Kapil Dev has a net worth of about $30 million and is regarded as one of the top all-around players of the last ten years (220 crores INR). Some sources claim that his earnings from commentary and his work as a TV host total more than 10 crores.

Kapil Dev used to charge more than Rs 1,500 for each match, for a total of Rs 2,100, which was a significant sum in the early 1980s, according to the slip. Kapil Dev now works as an endorser for a number of well-known products, earning him a sizable fortune.

The advertising of brands accounts for a sizable portion of their income. He also makes a respectable living by owning a hotel and a number of eateries.

What did Kapil Dev have to say about Surya’s brilliant knock against Sri Lanka?
Suryakumar Yadav's excellent performance against Sri Lanka in Rajkot stunned 1983 World Cup champion Kapil Dev, who likened his batting prowess to that of luminaries like Sachin Tendulkar, Viv Richards, Virat Kohli, and Ricky Ponting.

At the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium, during the third and final Twenty20 International of the series, India's No. 4 defeated Sri Lanka by scoring 112 runs off just 51 balls.

He helped Team India build a sizable 228 runs for the price of five wickets before the bowlers bowled out the visitors for just 137 runs.

Did Kapil Dev make some bold statements after the match?
"Sometimes I am at a loss of words on how to describe his knock. When we see Sachin Tendulkar, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, we feel that someday there will be a player who will compel us to think he is also part of that list," Kapil Dev told ABP news.

"There is indeed a lot of talent in India. And the kind of cricket he plays, that lap shot the one over fine leg, then that leaves the bowler frightened because he can stand and hit a six over mid-on and mid-wicket. That is what makes it difficult for the bowlers because he is able to pick the line and length consistently. I have seen great batters like De Villiers, Vivian Richards, Sachin, Virat, Ricky Ponting, but very few can hit the ball as cleanly as him. Hats off to Suryakumar Yadav. These kinds of players come only once in a century," Kapil Dev further added. As per live beyond sport
