CHICAGO, IL.- Hindman’s December Fine Art auctions featured notable milestones including a new world auction record for the late Surrealist artist Gertrude Abercrombie, continuing to illustrate the firm’s position as a leader in offering her works. The American & European auction was led by French painter Blanche Hoschedé-Monet’s Jardin en fleurs (Les rosiers). The sale also included an impressive performance by American figurative painter Doris Emrick Lee’s vibrantly colored pastoral scene Spring Lakes, which soared past its $8,000-12,000 estimate to realize $46,875.
