3 Unique Ways for Artists to Overcome Their Creative Block

At some point or the other, creative people feel that their forward momentum has come to a halt. Perhaps, you are not getting any new ideas, or, your artmaking tools do not seem to be that interesting and you cannot understand what new to do with them.

This sudden creative block can make you feel helpless whether you are an experienced artist or an amateur. Even the cause of such a block may not be easy to identify. But no matter what the cause, you cannot ignore things, or else, this demoralizing feeling can linger for a long time. So, you need to find out ways to overcome your creative block. And, to make things easier for you, shared below are a few such ways that you can start following right away.

1.Copy and Create
If you are just not able to create original work, then copying the artworks of others can help you move in the correct direction. You can go through the works of those artists that you love, be it historical or contemporary, and then try and recreate their works.

Even copying can demand similar technical skills as are needed when creating new work. However, you will not be feeling as anxious.

If you no longer feel interested in making copies then you can even repurpose their artwork. You can use these pieces as source material and then try and transform them. You can remove, add, or even distort elements, and with these changes, create a completely new art piece.

2.Start Some New Series
Series are basically made up of more than one work and each of them revolves around one theme or idea. Thinking about that theme may seem difficult when you already have no ideas at all. But, you can make this process easy by setting a time limit. Allow yourself about 20 minutes to think about some idea and then stick by it.

The subject you select need not be impressive or even original. It can be something as simple as a landscape or even fruit. You just need to focus on varying your intent and method for the different pieces in the series. For example, one piece could involve a limited number of brushstrokes, one can be abstracted, and another could use only a limited palette. The variations on even a very simple theme can be endless.

On day one you can start working on at least a few different pieces. You do not have to worry about finishing them at a go. Now, on the days that follow, you will have quite a few artworks left to complete. You can enter your work studio and start working on the one that draws your attention first.

As soon as you start losing interest in that piece, check which one catches your attention next and work on that one. Each mark that you are making here is a step towards getting rid of your block. You yourself will be left amazed at how absorbing this series can turn out to be.

3.Use CBD to Enhance Creativity
Yet another way to overcome your creative block is by using CBD. When you use CBD, the flow of blood to the frontal lobe of your brain increases. This is crucial because it has been observed that people who are highly creative generally have more blood flow to this section compared to those sections that are not as creative. The frontal lobes are known for processes like spontaneity and problem-solving, traits that are associated with creativity.

It is with the help of the blood flow that the brain transports chemical compounds, thus helping it communicate with itself. Now, when the blood flow becomes better, your brain will be able to think about different topics and scenarios faster. So, instead of having a single solution for an issue, your brain will offer many outcomes.

CBD can be ingested easily in the form of oil drops or tasty sweet CBD gummies, the improved blood flow to your brain will make sure you enjoy more possibilities and are able to process these in a better way. But that is not all, CBD also helps you enjoy an entourage effect. Together with enjoying better creativity, your focus will also improve and so you will better be able to think about your task at hand. Also, you will be able to act on your thoughts calmly and with more confidence. CBD will allow you to enjoy a great complete solution that will help you create a lot more than you ever imagined.

To Conclude
So, even if you are facing a creative block now and feel like your life as an artist is at risk, you really need not worry. Just following the simple ways suggested above will bring about a huge change. Quite likely you will be able to perform much better than you have until now. Your full potential is what the world will now get to see. So, wait no more, follow these easy ways, and enjoy the amazing changes
