Why Thailand Is a Joy for Art Lovers to Visit
The stunning scenery will make you reach for a paintbrush

There are certain countries around the globe that just tick all the boxes for an art fanatic to visit on vacation. That’s especially true of the beautiful country of Thailand, which is the beating heart of Southeast Asia, where it borders Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar. It has the Andaman Sea lapping at some of its western shores, and the bright blue waters of the Gulf of Thailand down south. With a population of just under 70 million people, its capital city, Bangkok, has just over 10 million people residing in it.

The country is famed for many things, including its spectacular scenery, its magnificent elephants, its gorgeous temples and its fantastic food. On top of that, it’s also a place where technology is king, and many members of the population enjoy playing online games of different genres. This includes online gambling games, where Asiabet delivers the best legal online casinos for Thai speakers to appreciate. All the choices are only picked because they pass the high-standards of being safe, credible, and being loaded with masses of top casino games for the eager players. Plus, there’s the availability of sign-up offers, which will get everyone in a winning mood.

Thailand is also, though, a magical place to visit for those who are art fanatics, as the country is teeming with artistic merit throughout. Let’s take a look, then, at just some of the reasons art lovers should visit Thailand.

Illuminating Contemporary Artists

There are numerous contemporary artists that call Thailand home, and with their great nation having such an illustrious and detailed history that they all have to draw upon, it’s no wonder that their artworks are so illuminating.

Probably the most cherished artist working today in the country is Chalermchai Kositpipat. The now 67-year-old began his long and successful journey in the art world by painting advertisements for movies onto massive billboards. He then progressed to painting murals, which were at first highly controversial, due to their cocktail of traditional Buddhist temple artwork, mixed with modern imagery.

Finally though, the authorities and public caught up to his vision, and his work is now celebrated for the outstanding outpouring of imagination that it is. You can see a small selection of his portfolio over at Art Ranked.

Amazing Art Galleries

Thailand is also proud to showcase its abundance of both historical and contemporary artworks, with its immense range of amazing art galleries dotted throughout the country. Obviously, the place with the highest number of these shrines to artistic creativity is Bangkok.

Some of the highlights in the capital city include; The Bangkok University Gallery, which celebrates young and emerging artists, and showcases their vibrant work, the Bangkok National Gallery, which displays collections from Thai artists from as far back as the 17th century, through to the modern day, and The Museum of Contemporary Art, which exhibits a great range of modern paintings and sculptures.

Outside of the capital though, there is still a huge amount of quality places to go and see fascinating artworks. Just some of the standouts are; Sangdee Art Gallery & Cafe, which promotes local artists, and is located in the northern city of Chiang Mai, then for the history buffs, there’s the Art Gallery & War Museum in the city of Kanchanaburi, which exhibits a massive collection of photography and artworks detailing the second World War.

Its Scenery is Inspiring

It might be that not only do you revel in enjoying other’s art, but you actually live to create art yourself, and if that’s the case, then taking a trip to Thailand will definitely get those creative juices flowing. This is because everywhere you look will grease the innovative gears in your head, as the country is overflowing with stunning scenery for you to draw, paint, or document.

Whether it’s the neon-tinged cityscapes of the urban centres of Bangkok, or the majestic natural wonders that make up the countryside, there will be something to catch everyone’s eye. Plus, if you are skilled enough to potentially be earning money from your artwork, then selling your portfolio online is a top tip for making money to fund your travels around this breathtaking country.
