I am extremely honored to follow in the footsteps of so many accomplished board chairs who played pivotal roles in establishing the Baltimore Museum of Art as a cultural anchor over the past 108 years, said Thornton. Since developing our strategic plan in 2018, we have made significant progress in better reflecting and connecting with our community and becoming a leading cultural voice in the region and the country. My commitment is to continue to build on both our strong artistic program and our social equity and diversity work across the institution. This work to define the museum of the future will require an unwavering commitment from my Board colleagues and our dedicated staff and leadership. I am confident that with the continued support of our donors, patrons, and visitors, we will lead this institution to greater achievements.
