Majestic Art Galleries in Asia Worth Visiting
These Asian cities offer majestic art galleries to visit

When it comes to art galleries, several cities around the world stand out straight away. There’s London, with its fabulous wealth of options, such as the Tate Britain or the National Gallery. There’s New York, which is equally as rich in artistic merit with The Museum of Modern Art or the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum. Or even Barcelona, which lays claim to such magnificent places as the Museu Picasso, and the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya. All these places come up, when someone asks the question, what are the best art galleries in the world?

However, there are many places that aren’t as well known, especially to Western audiences, for their incredible collections of art. But just because they’re not as well known, doesn’t mean that they aren’t teeming with artistic quality. One continent this especially rings true for is Asia, which is stacked full of magical galleries that will wow art lovers. If you’re ever fortunate enough to travel to some of these far-flung cities, then make sure you visit these majestic art galleries.

Mori Art Museum, Tokyo – Japan

Tokyo is a city that transports the visitor straight into the future, with its sci-fi inspiring architecture, masses of innovative gadgetry, and its abundance of forward-thinking fashion conscious patrons. Hidden amongst all this is the Mori Art Museum, which is on the fifty-second and fifty-third floors of the Roppongi Hills building. This contemporary art gallery first opened its doors to the public in 2003, and just like the city where it is situated, it’s known for being highly innovative.

Instead of having any permanent fixtures on display, the Mori Art Museum has decided to have a constantly changing short-term collection of art work on show. This means that the gallery never gets stale, nor that people will get bored of visiting it, as they will always have new artwork to revel in. It also allows the gallery to showcase a huge range of tantalising artistic talent. Some of the most renowned artists that have been featured so far are; the Chinese activist, Ai Weiwei, the American video artist, Bill Viola, and the Japanese designer, Tokujin Yoshioka.

The Bangkok Art and Culture Centre – Thailand

Thailand is a beautiful country to visit, and it is home to some of the most gorgeous natural scenery anywhere on the planet. In partnership with its naturalistic delights, the country also houses bustling cities that are flowing with cultural delights. The biggest of these is the country’s capital, Bangkok, which has a population of around 10.7 million people. The Bangkok Art and Culture Centre resides right in the beating heart of this energetic city.

This enthralling gallery first opened in 2008, and is open every day, except Monday, between 10am and 9pm. The building itself is designed to showcase the glorious art displayed in as pleasing a way as possible. This is achieved by the gallery having a huge skylight, that bathes the displays with enriching natural light, giving them an ethereal glow.

Thailand is a country that loves its art, but it is also a place where all kinds of cultures continue to grow. There’s an ever-lasting desire for movies, music, and a massive video game market. Gambling is also popular, with the advent of online casinos and sportsbooks bringing a whole new crowd to these activities. For example, Asiabet is a company that highlights the best sites for online gambling in Thailand in 2022. They have all the important information front and centre, so eager visitors won’t be disappointed by what they see. There are also marvellous offers that are constantly highlighted, such as free spins or generous welcome packages.

National Gallery – Singapore

The first thing you’ll notice as you approach the National Gallery in Singapore is the stunning white architecture that sits proud and domineering. The building is so aesthetically pleasing that millions of Singaporean couples who get married choose it as the location for their wedding photos. But inside is just as visually stimulating, as it houses the world’s largest public display of modern Southeast Asian art.

There are over 8,000 artworks for visitors to enjoy, and its vast collection contains both international and local artists. Walking round this massive gallery can be thirsty work, but don’t worry, there’s a trendy rooftop bar located at the top, named Smoke & Mirrors, that serves outstanding cocktails that come with a heavenly view of the city.
