Boucherouite and Beni Ourain rugs : would it be a successful marriage ?

Beni Ourain rugs are made of pure sheep’s wool of high quality featuring shining pile of golden and ivory highlights ; one of this best organic wool is produced out of a unique rustic Moroccan berber sheep breed around the ancient race called ‘Marmoucha’.

The Beni Ouarain (in french) berber tribes excel in selecting softer and silkier wool during a harvesting that could last several years before gathering enough wool to make some rugs

BOUCHEROUITE or BOUCHARWEIT (is Pronounced boo-sher-WET, it is the art of hand-loomed colorful vintage rag rugs made up out of ' clothing fabric scarps ' by village women in remote Moroccan Berber tribes, around cities like: Marrakesh, Beni Mellal and Azilal. Genuine Boucherouite marble rugs solely and exclusively originate from Morocco Atlas mountains villages.

Photographer: Julie Ansiau • Miluccia

Delicious mix of colorful Boucherouite rag rugs and minimalist Beni Ourain with their black and brown diamond patterns on their usual off-white woolly background. Implemented all together, these rugs suit perfectly to the circumstances in a great symbiosis.
