Pixlr, one of the world’s most popular design and photo editing ecosystems, launches Pixlr Genesis, a 100% decentralized NFT-based art gallery, with its inaugural NFT collection. The collection consists of 10,000 unique, AI-generated NFT art pieces.

The meteoric rise has made NFTs one of the most desirable, and lucrative assets for collectors.11 March 2021 marked the NFT sale of Everydays – The First 5000 Days by artist Mike Winkelmann for US$ 69.3 million, making it the most expensive NFT ever sold, and the third most valuable artwork sold by a living artist. From the second quarter to the third quarter of 2021, NFT sales have gone up eightfold, reaching US$10.7 billion.

Warren Leow, CEO of the Inmagine Group, the parent company of Pixlr says, "Inmagine is an ecosystem used by tens of millions of users monthly. We hope Pixlr Genesis can be our contribution towards helping NFT creators showcase their art to a wider audience."

Pixlr was introduced in August 2008, as one of the forerunners that harnessed AI and machine learning that revolutionized content creation, venturing into NFTs became a natural evolution.

Pixlr Genesis’ AI was given data sets that spanned classical and contemporary styles and artists. By understanding Impressionism and Cubism, and studying Van Gogh and Warhol, the AI extrapolates elements from the greats to create the initial Pixlr Genesis Collection of 10,000 exclusive, curated pieces.

Pixlr Genesis is envisioned as an art movement, and the digital renaissance to mirror the experience of the Louvre, MOMA, and The National Gallery on the metaverse. To match the growing sophistication of the space, each exclusive NFT art piece from the collection also serves as a member’s pass for the gallery. Each member will be entitled to share, curate, and auction their NFTs as part of the growing Pixlr Genesis community.

The Pixlr Genesis Debut collection aims to be an exclusive collection of digital fine art tailored to the most exquisite collectors.

To aid the longevity of the platform, 25% of all Pixlr Genesis NFT secondary royalties in perpetuity will be reinvested to create a full ecosystem to define new boundaries of art and intellectual property. Members can expect the Pixlr Genesis Collection to grow, as discussions of the acquisition and commissioning of new collections from up-and-coming artists have been on-going. Additional functionalities such as the ability to mint NFTs within the platform are in development to enhance the experience.

Pixlr Genesis aims to be the world’s largest, and prestigious NFT museum. To become the gateway for newcomers in the scene, and the nexus for serious art collectors through the variety and uniqueness of the art, and the strength of the community.
