10 Most Expensive Bongs In The World

The art of glassblowing dates back to some of the earliest civilizations. However, it wasn't until the 70s that the first patent was filed for a glass pipe explicitly made for smoking.

Little did anyone know at the time just how huge the glass pipe industry and culture would grow from this relatively modest design. But this isn't so surprising with the space exploding to the point that even ancillary services like cannabis tax accounting services are becoming commonplace.

As the demand for high-quality glass pipes has grown, we have witnessed a renaissance in the art of functional glass created by some incredibly talented individuals.

Some of these artists create mind-blowing works of art that cannabis consumers with the money to spare don't mind paying thousands of dollars to get stoned from. You can find many other attractive extraordinary mind-blowing examples from onlinenewsbuzz.

This is a rundown of some of the most expensive pipes available, from gold encrusted skulls to marley naturals bongs, and we even have some glass for those that may not be rolling in money but want some artsy glass to show off to their friends as they get high. You can check from contentrally about the easy process of turning your blog into the most expensive one.

The Throne - Price $1 million

Sold at auction in 2019 for a cool one million bucks is "The Throne" bong.
Its a collaboration between Scott Deppe, Banjo, Darby Holmes, and Clinton Roman and was constructed in 2010. The first iteration of this piece featured a female figure made by Clinton Roman that was in matt black. However, that was later removed for reasons unknown, and Banjo then made a replacement figure to replace Clintons piece.

"The Throne "is widely considered one of the most iconic function glass pieces in the industry and stands nearly 2ft tall. Its alien or demonic theme could be a bit dark for some, but this design exhibits remarkable skill and craftsmanship.

This piece begins at the push bowl, where it travels down into a large natural percolator and then on up the skeletal backbone to the mouthpiece. Since this piece was first exhibited, several similar works have been created, but this one will always be considered the true original. It can be viewed at the Illuzion Glass Galleries in Denver, Colorado.

Earl The Skeleton Pipe - Price $1 million

Another bong coming in at a whopping 1 million buck is Earl the Skeleton Pipe. by Kevin Murray. This intricate piece of art has a custom stand and comprises eight different parts. It can be disassembled to make six dab rigs and two regular pipes. So I guess you're getting eight pipes at 125,000 each if that makes the price tag sound any more affordable.

At over 3ft tall, this stunning fumed glass is truly amazing in its ability to work as a single or multiple pipes.

Sedna - Price $300,000

For around the same prices as a Ferrari GTC4LUSSO or a Rolls-Royce Wraith, you could buy the Sedna water pipe created by Banjo & Joe Peters. At over 12 inches tall, this stunning water pipe with its realistic aquatic animals is one of a kind. The unbelievable detail, combined with the legendary status of the artists who made it and its rarity, means that it's undoubtedly going to appreciate in price like any fin piece of art would. You can see it on display in Grey Space Art, a unique glass movement in New York which counts this bong as one of the most prized possessions.

Hayabusa Satellite Bong - Price $110,000

Modeled after the Hayabusa Satellite, this bong really is out for this world. It may be cheaper than a trip into space on Blue Origin and Virgin Galactic, but the price tag of 110,000 is still an eye-watering amount for most of us. This exquisitely detailed bong is 12 inches tall and handcrafted by Sagan Glass, a WA native known for his space-inspired designs and custom pipes. When you look closely at this bong, you can see an insane amount of detail. The solar panels are woven using a specialized glass blowing technique that makes them look so realistic. Such an intricate design must have taken hours of painstaking work and is no less remarkable than any piece of modern art.

Faberge Egg Bong - Price $101,000

Sagan Glass and Scott Deppe are like the dream team of glass artists, and they collaborated to create this dream space-scape-themed Faberge Egg percolator pipe. The fully functional Faberge Egg percolator pipe stands over 12 inches high and consists of a series of moons with a swirling galaxy backdrop. The substantial bowl is like a hollowed-out moon. This pipe sold at auction in 2016 for over $100K

Gold Encrusted Skull Bong - Price $100,000

As a 9 inch tall bong with 21 Karat gold-encrusted cannabis leaves and crystals, you can see why this bong is so expensive. It was created by Scott Deppe, the co-founder of Mothership Glass. With over 20 years of experience, Scott is something of a legend in the glass blowing business. He reportedly said this piece took him over 500 hours to make and to look at the details, we can well believe it. It's easy to see how this bong is priced at $100K when you consider the materials and level of craftsmanship. If you want to smoke out of some gold, then you're going to need deep pockets.

RooR Skull Gun - Price $90,000

Standing 10 inched tall and 18 inches long, this is a significant chunk of glass that's shaped like a full-size assault rifle with a skull melded into the handle. It glows in the dark and looks like some futuristic plasma gun that you'd use to fight epic battles. Complete with a barrel, clip, scope, and handle with skull design, this bong looks incredible and is the perfect way to arm yourself to fire up some bowls. It was crafted by Munich-born Weinmayer Bernd, who has made several skull-themed pipes for RooR over the years, many of which are displayed at an associated Amsterdam art gallery.

The Pirate Ship Bubbler - Price $30,000

This 18-inch tall pirate ship is an amazing piece of glasswork that can be seen at Illusion in Denver. It was made as a collaborative piece from buck glass, LaceFace Glass and Joe O'Connell. In 2010 when it went on sale, it fetched a whopping $30,000.

This intricate pirate ship bong is complete with masts, sails, masthead, and cannons. There is an insane amount of details going into this, and it's perhaps one of the most creative bongs ever made. Each of the six cannons works as bowls making this artwork a real party piece. It's mesmerizing how these artists managed to make a finely crafted piece like this so functional.

Take Me 2 the Mother Ship - Price $20,000

When it comes to the best glass in the world, the name Scott Deppe keeps appearing. This is another masterclass in creative glass blowing from the famed artist. This water pipe was inspired by extraterrestrial beings and outer space. It features colorful ribbons of glass swirling around multi-eyed aliens and a flying saucer, all lovingly crafted in awesome detail. With its bright, vibrant colors, it kind of looks like what one may expect to see from a psychedelic mushroom reflected in bong art.

Hot Rod Bubbler - Price $20,000

This hot rod bubbler is a lot more expensive than any toy car you are used to seeing at the store. It's a fully functional pipe made by Adam Whobrey and Steve Hops that's truly one of a kind. The pipe has two percolators, and all the tubes and struts are where you'd expect them to be on a hot rod. Even the wheels work. At 20K, it may be almost as much as a real car, however, it's sure to get you much higher than any sports car ride.

Where to buy the best water pipes?

Dropping a check with 4 or 5 zeros on for a smoking pipe is way beyond what most can realistically afford. But owning an awe-inspiring glass pipe needn't set us back as much as a car, or in some cases, a house.

Online headshop like Lookah has some very affordable glass to add to your collection. Within the heady hand crafted T'ataoo range, you'll find stunning designs, that while not up to the level of the glass artists above, will still take your breath away.
