Hindman Auctions to present timepieces by top designers in October sale

CHICAGO, IL.- On October 5, Hindman Auctions will present a Timepieces sale which will offer 80 stunning watches ranging from classic to modern styles by esteemed designers including Patek Philippe, Ulysse Nardin, Cartier, Piaget and Rolex. The sale will also present pocket watches from the Halim Time & Glass Museum in Evanston, Illinois. Property of the Hirschfield Estate, Santa Barbara, California will also be featured.

Patek Philippe, IWC, Rolex

Noteworthy Patek Philippe watches include a Ref. 4908 ‘Twenty-4’ wristwatch (lot 45; estimate: $15,000-20,000) that contains 34 round brilliant cut diamonds, sunburst silvered brown dial, single cut diamond and Roman numerals and an integrated flexible link bracelet. A Ref. 5053 ‘Officer’s’ wristwatch (lot 51; estimate: $10,000-15,000), an 18k yellow gold Ref. 10 wristwatch (lot 49; estimate: $7,000-9,000) and a vintage ‘Calatrava’ wristwatch (lot 54; estimate $7,000-9,000) are also standout lots.

Another outstanding lot that will be offered is an IWC Ref. 5021 'Portugieser Perpetual Calendar' wristwatch (lot 11; estimate: $18,000 - $22,000). This elegant watch is also a moonphase.

A notable selection of Rolex watches will be featured. Highlights include a Ref. 80319 'Oyster Perpetual Datejust' wristwatch (lot 19; estimate: $15,000-20,000), a Ref. 1803 ‘Oyster Perpetual Day-Date’ wristwatch (lot 18; estimate: $8,000-10,000) and a Ref. 6927 ‘Oyster Perpetual Datejust’ wristwatch (lot 17; estimate: $3,000-5,000).

Ulysse Nardin

An Ulysse Nardin Ref. 8006-102 'Maxi Marine Diver' chronograph wristwatch is an impressive timepiece that will be presented (lot 57; estimate: $15,000-20,000). A platinum limited edition Ref. 329-80 Day-Date Perpetual Calendar GMT wristwatch is another notable item (lot 56; estimate: $15,000 - $20,000).

Cartier

Cartier watches in timeless styles will be offered. One top lot is a white gold and diamond Ref. 2489 ‘Tank Americaine’ watch (lot 31; estimate: $8,000-12,000). Another iconic example is a yellow gold Ref. 2482 ‘Tank Americaine’ wristwatch (lot 32; estimate: $5,000-7,000). Other gorgeous items include a Ref. 1070 ‘Panthère’ wristwatch (lot 33; estimate: $5,000-7,000)

Piaget

Striking watches by Piaget will also be featured such as a Ref. P10442 'Limelight Magic Hour' wristwatch (lot 40; estimate: $7,000-9,000). Another exceptional lot is a Piaget diamond and jade wristwatch (lot 41; estimate: $3,500-5,500). The strong craftmanship of the piece is seen through a jade dial and a textured 18k yellow gold mesh link bracelet.

Halim Time & Glass Museum Pocket Watches

An excellent selection of pocket watches from the Halim Time & Glass Museum will be presented in the October 5th auction. Standouts include a 18k pink gold minute repeater open face pocket watch (lot 73; estimate: $3,000-5,000) and an Alliez, Bachelard & Terond Fils, tricolor gold and paste open face pocket watch (lot 74; estimate: $1,200 - $1,800). Another outstanding item is a gold minute repeater pocket watch (lot 71; estimate: $1,200-1,800).
