It uses 95% less water, prohibits the use of toxic fertilizers and pesticides, exponentially increases crop production and maximizes profits. Vertical farming can feed overpopulated cities if done on a large or industrial scale. It can tackle climate change to some extent. 4. Bioplastic
We cannot deny the detrimental effects plastic has on our planet. It has encroached into the marine system and put the lives of the animals there at great risk. Head of UN Environment’s coral reef unit, Jerker Tamelander, states that marine plastic pollution is affecting more than 800 marine species through ingestion, entanglement and the change of habitat. Plastic also stays in the environment for thousands of years if you don't recycle it. It’s only imperative that you try your best to switch to biodegradable or biomass-borne plastics called ‘bioplastics’. They are much more planet-safe.
