Top Ten Art Scholarships Available For 2022
Art scholarships can help students in various types of studies. Within the realm of art, there are music, photography and mixed media scholarships.
1.) Bank of America Achievement Awards Scholarships.
This scholarship is for high school seniors in California. Students are typically chosen by their schools. Up to $2000 is awarded to the winner, but second place and third place runner-ups also receive financial help. Second place winners receive $1500 while third place winners receive $1000. The deadline is in January and is selected by the high school.
2.) Grandma Moses Art Scholarships for Women.
Female students in their senior year of high school are encouraged to apply to this scholarship. The winner of the scholarship is awarded $3000. The requirements include acceptance to an art school and the applicant must plan on studying art. The
western region of the United States is given preference and applicants are accepted on a merit-based system. The deadline for applications is in March 2022.
3.) Ellice T. Johnston Ceramic Art Scholarship.
Winners of this scholarship will receive $1800. For those who are primarily interested in pottery, this scholarship will help support their higher education. Students who are interested must have completed two years of college studying either sculpture, design, drawing or ceramics. Students in Oregon or northern California are welcome to apply. The application deadline is in June 2022.
4.) Bodie McDowell Scholarships for Outdoor Writing and Art.
The deadline for this scholarship is in February of each year. Undergraduates who are majoring in art, writing, photography or broadcasting can apply. Undergraduates must be entering their junior or senior year and have an interest in outdoor communication. The award amount is between $1000 and $5000 per year.
5.) The Nancy Etz Academic Scholarship.
This particular scholarship is presented annually to those who are currently full-time graduate or undergraduate students. Applicants are required to live in the United States. The final deadline is February 1st, 2022 and all essays will be read after the deadline. The Nancy Etz Academic Scholarship is merit-based and recognizes outstanding talent. The winner receives $1000.
6.) The Adobe Design Circle Scholarship.
The winners of this scholarship receive $25,000 each. Student applicants must be enrolled in design fields. LGBTQ+ students and students of color are encouraged to apply as well as any underrepresented communities. In addition to scholarship money, the winners have opportunities for internships and shadowing. The application deadline is in January 2022.
7.) The Against The Grain Artistic Scholarship.
Asian American students are encouraged to apply for this scholarship. Applicants must be at least 50% Asian or Pacific Islander and currently majoring in visual arts or journalism programs. Other requirements include United States citizenship, and minimum of a 3.0 GPA. The award amount is $1000. The deadline is May 15th, 2022.
8.) The Antonio Cirino Memorial Fund.
This fund is for students who reside in Rhode Island. Applicants must be able to provide their financial need for academic assistance. Those who qualify must be involved with at least one artistic discipline. The deadline is in May and a copy of school transcripts is needed. Students that do not intend to have a career as an arts educator may not participate in the application process. The recipient is awarded between $2000 and $12,000.
9.) Arts for Life!
As a Florida scholarship, they review only residents that live in the state. This organization supports high school students who wish to have a degree in dance, creative writing, music and other forms of art. Formed by the former
first lady of Florida, Columba Bush, this scholarship has been given to over 400 students. The application is due January 4th and the essay is on how art has influenced the applicant’s life. Winners of this scholarship are awarded $1000.
10.) The Charles M. Robertson Memorial Scholarship.
The National Art Education Association offers this scholarship to the Pratt College of Art and Design located in Brooklyn, New York. Eligible applicants must be enrolled in high school and involved with a National Art Honor Association Chapter. The application deadline is December 15th. Students must maintain a 3.0 GPA to remain eligible for their scholarship.
