SOUTHAMPTON, NY.- Hamptons Fine Art Fair, the inaugural international fine art fair from the producers of ShowHamptons, has announced their 2021 exhibitor list, featuring artworks by 70 select national and international galleries, with 51 in-person booths and the remaining exhibiting in online virtual reality booths. For the first time ever, Hamptons Fine Art Fair will take place inside and amongst the beautiful grounds of the historic Southampton Arts Center, a unique opportunity for art lovers and patrons to purchase important works in the museum. HFAF will feature works by 400+ respected artists with over 1000 pieces, totaling $100+ million in art for immediate acquisition. The in-person fair will be a welcome return to the bustling Hamptons art and social scene after a period of online events, with thousands of attendees expected to pass through the fair over the Labor Day holiday weekend. In 2020, ShowHamptons first digitized art fair, Hamptons Virtual Art Fair displayed over 2,000 pieces of artwork from 90 international galleries in virtual reality booths in 2D and 3D. This year, HFAF will incorporate cutting-edge VR technology to create a simulated art fair environment for visitors who cannot attend in person, to virtually navigate as they would a physical fair.
Never before has the heart-pounding excitement of an international fine art fair come to the center of bustling Southampton Village to celebrate the East Ends new booming art scene. This year, over 70 international art galleries from across the country and world will showcase their most important 20th and 21st-century art in real life and simultaneously digitally all over the world. There will be over 400 revered artists on display, with a focus on accomplished Black artists, hot emerging artists, the blue-chip masters, an M.C. Escher display, and rediscovery of significant second-generation Abstract Expressionists. Founder and Executive Producer of HFAF, Rick Friedman, has announced artist Audrey Flack will be awarded the 2021 Lifetime Achievement Award, presented by Hollis Taggart Galleries. Edward Bekkerman, represented by ABA Gallery, and Bruce Dorfman, represented by Elizabeth Clement Fine Art will be honored as 2021 Featured Artists. Dr. Harvey Manes will be honored as 2021 Art Collector of the Year.
Executive Director of Hamptons Fine Art Fair, Rick Friedman commented, This is the elegantly curated boutique show that Hamptonites have been seeking for years. As the only fine art fair that is held inside an actual art museum and grounds, our guests will feel a sense of luxury and privilege as they enter. Friedman continues, We are also the first fair to present both an in-person version as well as a virtual reality version, that stays live for months. Thus, we augment the viewership of the galleries substantially, from those on the East End, to art enthusiasts across the nation and world.
Hamptons Fine Art Fair will momentously transform the grounds of Southampton Arts Center into a dynamic world-class art fair by utilizing the entire historic building and plush grounds, featuring a Sculpture Park, three dramatic climate-controlled pavilions, including The Pollock Pavilion, sponsored by Pincus Plastic Surgery, de Kooning Pavilion, and an elegant VIP Lounge. In The Pollock Pavilion, fairgoers will have the opportunity to enjoy original works from the former East Hampton resident and view a replica of the famous Jackson Pollock paint-stained studio barn floor. The Sculpture Park will feature impressive works by Louise Bourgeois, Larry Rivers, David Salle, Bill King, Hans Van de Bovenkamp, Joel Pearlman, Audrey Flack, Chakaia Booker, and others.
Starting on August 15, 2021, HFAF exhibitors will have the chance to upload their artworks to a virtual gallery in 2D and 3D formats using artPRESENT, pioneered during Hamptons Virtual Art Fair, providing as close to an authentic experience as possible. All artworks will be displayed in high-resolution detail. The online fair will remain live until November 30, 2021.
