HOW TO DECORATE YOUR HOME WITH ARTWORK

One finds immense joy in decorating empty walls in the house with breathtaking artwork of different eras. Anyone coming to your home should get an idea about your taste in art. But decorating your walls takes more than just meticulous planning and taste in art. Continue reading this article to learn more about how you can decorate your house with creative artwork.

A Sense of Cohesiveness: You want to fill the empty walls with beautiful artwork. Great! But you cannot just put some random painting side by side and call it a day. Art does not work that way. The paintings on the wall should tell a story reflecting the vibe of the room. If you have no idea about creating a narrative with your artwork, you may ask for help from someone who does. Maybe you have an artist friend who would be perfect for the job. Don’t be afraid to hire people to select your artwork for you.

• The artwork does not need to be expensive to be engaging. Many young artists have not made a name for themselves yet, but are producing extraordinary artwork. You may buy their paintings and support the next great artist in the making.

• If you are good with the camera, you have struck gold. You can just roam around your city or visit the countryside, to click amazing pictures of nature, portrait, abstract shape and more. All you need to do is select the ones you want on the walls and frame them accordingly.

Construction Work: Now comes the actual process of hanging the pictures on the empty walls. However easy it may sound, hanging pictures can be a tricky subject, depending on the frame dimension. You don’t want to put too many holes in your beautiful walls and make a mess of it. There are different types of bolts and ropes especially suited for hanging large pictures. If you do not have knowledge about the technical issues, you can just rely on interior designers who can remodel a space according to your needs.

• You may purchase an expensive artwork and want the same to stand out in a room. Choose an empty wall to display the famous work so that everyone can appreciate the beauty of the piece. If you want to modify a space to enhance the wall, you may find trusted home remodeling contractors in your area to do the job.

• Always have a concrete plan when it comes to remodeling a room. Call in an engineer for them to look over the space you want to modify before starting the construction work.

Before installing the artwork, you need to assess the wall and the use of the room. In a living room, you may hang pictures that are suited to common taste. If you have kids, you don’t want a nude portrait hanging in the living room. The same goes for your child’s room as well; you cannot install explicit artwork as it might be inappropriate. You can add clusters of small picture frames on a large wall to create a texture and give the room a different look. You may also add a big framed picture on a small wall to make a statement.

When it comes to art, there is no rule book to dictate right and wrong. Keep on experimenting with art and develop your taste in designing interiors.
