BOSTON, MASS.- John F. Kennedy's Harvard sweater sold for $85,266, according to Boston-based RR Auction.

The crimson red wool cardigan sweater with shawl collar, featuring a large black block-letter "H" for his alma mater, Harvard, knitted into the left breast. A label sewn into the collar is embroidered in red thread with his surname, "Kennedy." The handsome, classically-styled collegiate sweater features eight brilliant white mother-of-pearl buttons, with two sewn-in pockets on the front.

The sweater was acquired by Herman Lang, a cameraman who was shooting a network television interview with Jacqueline Kennedy in May 1964. Lang was believed to have been offered the sweater while shooting outdoors because of the cold weather. When he attempted to return it, he was told to keep it as a reminder of the late John F. Kennedy.

"It's a magnificent, personal piece representing Kennedy's beloved university," said Bobby Livingston, Executive VP at RR Auction.

Addition highlights from the sale include, but are not limited by:

Abraham Lincoln signed photograph of President Lincoln and his son Tad, one of only three known examples known to exist, sold for $135,472.

George Washington signed "Mountain Road Lottery" ticket sold for $25,712.

Ronald Reagan heartfelt and heartbreaking handwritten letter to his estranged daughter sold for $23,716.

Warren G. Harding WWI Peace Resolution Bill signing pen archive sold for $13,887.

The Presidential Auction from RR Auction began on February 11 and concluded on February 18.
