PARIS.- The 2021 trade-fair calendar has already been disrupted by the Covid-19 crisis, but the fifth edition of Fine Arts Paris will still take place on November 17-21, 2021, in the courtyard of Paris’s Dôme des Invalides, the venue chosen for the 2020 edition (cancelled because of lockdown rules).

This year’s Fine Arts Paris will bring together some 60 galleries specializing in all aspects of the fine arts in a temporary structure in this prestigious location. An online version of the fair will also be held.

"While it is difficult to predict what the health situation will be at the end of November, we want to continue to move our projects forward and send a positive message to the art market,” says Louis de Bayser, President of Fine Arts Paris.

The high-level art fair Fine Arts Paris was founded in 2017 by the creators of the Salon du dessin. Following the first edition at the Palais Brongniart, at which 34 exhibitors showed paintings, drawings and sculpture, the fair moved to the Carrousel du Louvre, welcoming 46 exhibitors and gradually opening up to other specialties, including archaeology and tapestries.

In 2018, Fine Arts Paris founded the off-site event Fine Arts Week, held at the same time as the fair, in partnership with 20 museums and institutions.

In 2019, Connaissance des Arts, a subsidiary of the Groupe Les Échos-Le Parisien and LVMH, acquired a 48% stake (along with the eight founding partners) in the Agence d’Évènements Culturels, which manages the Salon du dessin and Fine Arts Paris.

In 2020, the courtyard of the Dôme des Invalides was chosen as the site of the fourth edition of Fine Arts Paris to accommodate a larger number of exhibitors.

The health crisis and lockdown led to the cancellation of the 2020 fair, which took place online only.

For its first online version, Fine Arts Paris, with 55 exhibitors, had 20,000 visits and 2,500 connections between the opening and the end of the fair.

With its intimate atmosphere inspired by the Salon du dessin, Fine Arts Paris will do its utmost to adapt to the health requirements in effect at the time and to present a superlative fair at both the Invalides site and on the digital platform.
