LONDON.- The Fund for Global Human Rights launched a new collection of limited edition prints and posters for sale, from emerging and international artists featured in the critically-acclaimed photography exhibition, Face to Face.

Eight artists, including Alejandro Cartagena, Margaret Courtney-Clarke, Medina Dugger, Mahtab Hussain, Dhruv Malhotra, Sabelo Mlangeni, George Osodi and Kyle Weeks, are supporting the work of the Fund by creating an affordable limited edition print or poster, priced from £50 to £150. Proceeds from sales will directly support the work of the Fund, helping to equip local activists and organisations with the resources they need to respond to crises and create change in their communities around the world.

Each artist has selected an image, or selection of work, from one of the striking series featured in Face to Face; such as George Osodi’s ‘Oil Rich Niger Delta’, Mahtab Hussain’s ‘Going Back to Where I came From’, and Margaret Courtney-Clark’s ‘Cry Sadness into the coming Rain.’ This is a rare chance to own an iconic work by these extraordinary artists; many of these series of photographs are in major museum collections around the world.

Face to Face photography is focused in regions where the Fund is active—Africa, Latin America, South Asia, and Southeast Asia—presenting encounters that celebrate the agency, energy, and potential of people and causes on the ground. In working closely with individuals and local communities, the approach of the selected photographers in Face to Face mirrors the values and approach of the Fund. Instead of imposing its own solutions on partners, the Fund respects their expertise, invests in their ideas and asks them how best to address human rights problems facing their communities.

The Fund for Global Human Rights is a charity that equips frontline activists and groups with the funding, tools, and contacts they need to push for systemic change in their communities. Since 2002, with generous support from donors, the Fund has distributed £80 million in support to community activists and grassroots groups in over 25 countries. These bold local leaders have driven forward solutions to some of the world’s greatest challenges.

The events of 2020 have starkly exposed the consequences of inequality, racism and authoritarianism. In this time of flux, the Fund for Global Human Rights wants to show that we can all make a difference and create lasting social change.
