TAIPEI.- Taipei Dangdai Art & Ideas has announced new dates for its forthcoming edition in light of recent changes to the art fair calendar in Asia in 2021. Originally scheduled to take place from 15-17 January, the Fair will now be held from 2-4 July (VIP Preview 1 July) at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center.
The second edition of Taipei Dangdai which took place in January 2020 featured 99 of the worlds leading galleries and welcomed strong attendance from Taiwan, Asia and around the world. With over 40,000 visitors attending the fair, galleries reported strong sales and networking opportunities.
Building on the success of interim activations since the last edition of the Fair, such as the launch of 'Taipei Connections in May, several new initiatives will be announced in the coming months to provide opportunities for galleries and collectors to connect. These will include collaborations with institutions and galleries across Taipei as well as a new model for the Fairs Ideas Forum, which will take place both online and offline.
Our goal at Taipei Dangdai is to work in service of the Asian gallery community, bringing the art world together for exchange here in Taipei. This move is necessary to keep our platform aligned with our galleries programming for the coming year, and we remain excited to welcome everyone back. - Robin Peckham, co-director, Taipei Dangdai Art & Ideas
Taipei has remained remarkably safe throughout this year, allowing life to continue more or less as usual. Shifting our dates will allow Taipei Dangdai to provide the best possible context for galleries, collectors, and other members of the art world across Asia to make meaningful connections in person once again. - Magnus Renfrew, co-founder and co-director, Taipei Dangdai Art & Ideas.
