Reasons Why You Should Have Map Art At Your Home

30-50 years ago if anyone wanted to have something on their empty wall, then they usually looked to buy some painting or painted it themselves. Because at that time there were such things as personalized canvas, map art, or LED art that you can have on your wall.

And if there even was something different than paintings, then it wasn’t available for every household those days.

Even the paintings were costly, and only rich ones were able to afford a nice and high-quality painting.

Times change and a lot of new stuff come into the art market. And these days there is this small thing called map art.

What is it you will ask? Well, let’s get right into it!

What Is Map Art?
Let’s just be straight forward with this. Map art is as you can understand from those words, art that includes a map.

It can be anything. Your city, the whole world, just about anything as long as it includes and looks like a map. And it doesn’t have to be something that you hang on a wall. It can be a coaster, blanket, chair, magnets, candles, you name it.

As I have an obsession with maps, then for me this is something amazing and I would probably choose map art over any painting.

Well, except if I could get my hands on Mona Lisa. But that will never happen, maybe some fake.

Wall Map Art

First, let’s take a look at how we can decorate our empty walls in our house or apartment. There are companies like Grafomap where you can use their editor, personalize them, and order them.

Yes, that easy!
Someone would maybe ask me - “Why should I hang a map on my wall?”
Well, the answer is pretty easy to find. Maybe you have some memories of someplace. Like for example, the place you met your wife, your first love, maybe the place you had your first kiss in.

I know even some people that ordered such a thing because they wanted to always remember their hometown, where they grew up.

Thats what I also did personally. I was born in Latvia, and my home town was a small city. When I moved away, to Singapore, I have Latvia and my city on my apartment wall.

Those are just amazing memories.

Anything Can Become Art
As I mentioned before, map art doesn’t have to be something you hang on your wall.

Let’s take a look at some ideas where you can use map art in many different ways.

Coasters

You can stand out from your friend when they come over. Impress them with some interesting things at home like these coasters. They will look pretty cool on your table than the usual glass or just wood design.

Get them on Etsy or Amazon.

Clock

They’re another thing that can leave a “mark” on your visitors. Everyone mostly has simple wall clocks at their houses. Why don’t you be different?

I personally think it looks very good. I don’t have it, but I know some friend that has similar design clocks at their apartments and yes, they do look good in real life.

It’s one of the things you notice right away when you walk into the living room. Especially when your walls are white and the clock is in dark colors.

Lampshade

Yes, you heard me right - a lampshade!
Maybe you think im crazy, but let’s be real, it does fit in any design. Especially in vintage design offices.

And we all know that vintage is coming back these days.

Conclusion
There are no limits to map art. You can have a map of anything you want. Even in your car, but for me- thats not a good idea. But hey, these are just my ideas and opinions on them.

It doesn’t mean that you have to agree with me on this. It’s your choice. Im just here to show you, that you can do anything with this.
