DALLAS, TX.- A stunning, yellow diamond ring and an important private collection drove Heritage Auctions' Fall Jewelry Auction to $7,361,395 Oct. 4-5, as a 25-carat Fancy Vivid Yellow Diamond, Diamond, Platinum, Gold Ring took top lot honors at $975,000.

Nearly 2,000 bidders from every corner of the world participated in the sale, quickly driving high bids past expectations. A special offering titled "Property of a Lady" proved popular with collectors; by auction's end, the group totaled more than $3 million.

"We were honored to present 'Property of a Lady' and its rare jewels from Tiffany & Co.'s Blue Book," said Jill Burgum, Senior Director of Fine Jewelry at Heritage Auctions. "The sensational pieces were a form of wearable art. Interest was amazing! We were also excited to see competition for other designer brands, and large diamonds lead to higher prices realized."

Highlighting Property of a Lady's 94 lots were 66 creations for Tiffany & Co. They included a 5.25-carat Diamond, Platinum Ring, which ended at $399,000 and a 7.24-carat Diamond, Platinum Ring, which sold for $200,000 against a $125,000 estimate. A unique pair of Zambian Emerald, Diamond, Platinum Earrings doubled its estimate when it brought $150,000. The collection also featured additional Tiffany rarities, including a Zambian Emerald, Diamond, Platinum Ring, which brought $137,500 and a beautiful, Diamond, Platinum Necklace, which ended at $131,250.

The sale marked the first time Heritage Auctions revealed the original price paid for each Tiffany & Co., Blue Book piece. Additional Blue Book highlights included The Feathered Cloak Necklace, a Diamond, Platinum Necklace designed by Francesca Amfitheatrof, which sold for $112,500 against a $30,000 estimate, and a suite including a Butterfly necklace and coordinating ring and earrings by French designer Jean Schlumberger, which sold for $106,250. The suite features oval-shaped diamonds weighing a total of approximately 8.80 carats.

Two special creations designed by Amfitheatrof: a Diamond, Multi-Stone, Gold Necklace, Francesca Amfitheatrof for Tiffany & Co. and a Multi-Stone, Diamond, Platinum, Gold Necklace, Francesca Amfitheatrof for Tiffany & Co., each of which sold for $93,750.

Heritage Auctions' next Signature Jewelry Auction is set for Dec. 6 in Dallas. Heritage Auctions is always accepting fine jewelry consignments.
