LOS ANGELES, CA.- Durden and Ray presents Personal Contacts, a six-part series of exhibitions featuring four artists paired with four members of the collective’s curatorial team.

Beginning with the success of We Are Here / Here We Are, an outdoor exhibition last spring that featured 100 artists from all parts of Los Angeles County, Durden and Ray continues to explore novel ways to promote the work of artists during the COVID-19 pandemic, including a 3D interactive panorama of Personal Contacts; a series of live video interviews with the artists; and an exhibition that can been seen by appointment at their downtown Los Angeles gallery in the Bendix Building.

Every two weeks, four different members will invite their selections to join in. The artists invited have been selected for various reasons, including formal through-lines with their work, shared aims, joint interests, hopes to provide support, or a unique platform to display their work. The curators at Durden and Ray believe that now is the best time to approach the programmatic aspects of their gallery in a more community-focused way, supporting their peers while remaining sensitive to the struggles that they are attending to.

The physical exhibition will be installed in Durden and Ray’s gallery space, which can be visited on a Saturday by appointment, with masks necessary and social distancing in force. The live stream interviews via Zoom will explore those selections and discuss the work, themes and ideas of the invited artists. Links to these videos and Google Street View-style exhibitions will be available via Durden and Ray’s Facebook and Instagram channels, as well as their website.
