SAN RAFAEL, CA.- The 21st Annual Marin Indian Art Show presents some of the finest historic Native American art available today. This two day event is the largest show of its kind in the country and brings together experts, artists, art collectors, and others in a modern day gallery setting located at the Marin Center Exhibition Hall and Embassy Suites in San Rafael, just north of San Francisco. Show dates are Feb. 26 (10-6) and Feb. 27 (11-5).
More than 225 booths featuring the best of Native American art from both Americas will highlight such prized art items as hand woven California Indian baskets, Mesoamerican bronze sculptures, and Pacific Northwest carvings dating back several hundred years.
Contemporary works by Ronald Chee, Michael Horse, Rose Blue Eyes, and Greg Lomayesva and others will also be represented in the show’s hall of contemporary art. Recognized the world over as a cultural arts gallery, this event is sponsored by Kim Martindale of KR Martindale Show Management.
Martindale who also produces the Santa Monica Indian Art Show in May and the Los Angeles Fine Arts Show in the fall has a passion for indigenous art that began when he was a young boy. “These works are an important part of the American artistic landscape and continue to serve as a source of inspiration for artists everywhere,” he said.
