ST. LOUIS, MO.- Jeanette Fausz has been promoted to assistant director for exhibitions and collections, the
Saint Louis Art Museum announced today.
Fausz oversees the museums departments of conservation, design, exhibitions, installation, and registration. Her promotion reflects a change in the museums management group that also included the promotion of Mark Macinski to assistant director for operations and security.
Fausz recently coordinated planning and logistical efforts associated with the museums North American premiere of Sunken Cities: Egypts Lost Worlds, the most complicated exhibition installation undertaken at the Saint Louis Art Museum in more than a generation.
Jeanette has been instrumental in the success of Sunken Cities and other recent exhibitions, said Brent R. Benjamin, the Barbara B. Taylor Director of the Saint Louis Art Museum. This well-deserved promotion also recognizes Jeanettes long-standing commitment to safeguarding, strengthening and sharing the Saint Louis Art Museums collection.
Fausz joined the museum as assistant registrar in 1991. During her time at the museum, she has served in a sequence of roles of increasing responsibility in the areas of museum registration and exhibitions, including director of exhibitions and head registrar. During the construction and installation of the museums David Chipperfield-designed East Building, Fausz served on the museums implementation team and supervised the installation of 71 galleries and nearly 2,000 works of art throughout the museums newly renovated campus.
Fausz received an undergraduate degree from St. Marys College of Maryland and completed graduate work at the College of William and Mary. She also has served an Advisory Panelist for the Arts and Artifacts Indemnity Program of the National Endowment for the Arts, which helps support exhibition programs throughout the country.
