Juliens Auctions on November 18 live and online in Los Angeles.
Known for their celebrity memorabilia sales Juliens are offering a huge collection of jewellery worn in the Golden Age of Hollywood, designed by legendary American jeweller, Joseff of Hollywood in a sale titled Property from the Joseff of Hollywood: Treasures from the Vault'.

These pieces of jewellery are part of the Hollywood cinematic legend and have been carefully stored with hundreds of other important pieces of jewellery in the Joseff vault in Hollywood for decades, the famous jewellery design house that made jewellery for use in the cinema by its leading ladies.
The most valuable item with links to Vivien Leigh is a lovely multi-strand, tiered necklace with bezel set, simulated diamonds and amethysts worn by Leigh in Gone With The Wind, by Selznick International Pictures, 1939. Leigh wears the necklace as she portrayed Scarlet O'Hara, during her honeymoon with Rhett Butler in New Orleans. Leigh was also photographed wearing the necklace in a publicity photograph for the film. Estimate $60,000 -$80,000.
Vivien Leigh is famous for beating 1400 other actresses to play Scarlett OHara in Gone With The Wind. But Leighs own life, which was filled with dramatic highs and lows, was as colorful and tumultuous as Scarlett herself. She won two Academy Awards for Gone with the Wind and A Streetcar Named Desire
She said of herself: You know the passage where Scarlett voices her happiness that her mother is dead, so that she can't see what a bad girl Scarlett has become? Well, that's me. And People think that if you look fairly reasonable, you can't possibly act, and as I only care about acting, I think beauty can be a great handicap.
Also worn by Vivien Leigh in Gone with the Wind is a gold-plated, tiered necklace. The necklace is worn by Leigh as she portrayed Scarlet O'Hara, during multiple scenes including the barbeque at Twelve Oaks, that same day while the ladies are having an afternoon nap upstairs, when Scarlet is eavesdropping on the men in the study, when she confesses her love to Ashley, during her first encounter with Rhett Butler, and as the troops are called to war. The necklace uses Joseff's signature Russian plating technique with coral-colored florets, and a single suspended tear-drop. Signed with Joseff script. Estimate $40,000 - $60,000.
In the film That Hamilton Woman by Alexander Korda Films, 1941. Leigh wore this silver necklace in antique finish with simulated diamonds emeralds and pearls. It was also worn by Lily Pons as a headpiece with minor modifications in the film Hitting a New High (RKO, 1937).
The necklace was originally designed for Greta Garbo to wear in Camille, MGM, 1936, but it didn't make the final cut of the film as Garbo found it uncomfortable to wear under a heavy cloak and refused it. The necklace was used the following year with minor modifications as a headpiece and was finally featured prominently on film as the necklace it was intended to be when Vivien Leigh wore it in That Hamilton Woman.
