NEW YORK, NY.- Christie’s announces its fall lineup of October photographs sales, which includes a comprehensive selection of more than 300 photographs to be sold in New York. The complete works on offer include iconic property by many of the most well-known names of the 20th century, including Alfred Stieglitz, Constantin Brâncuși, Dorothea Lange, Edward Steichen, Edward Weston, Irving Penn, Man Ray, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Walker Evans and more.
Key highlights will be previewed during a multi-city tour, with exhibitions in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and New York starting in September 2017.

Photographs, Including Property from The Museum of Modern Art
• The various-owner sale encompasses many of the most important themes and artists moments in photographic history. The sale will also include four photographs from The Museum of Modern Art, sold to benefit the acquisition fund for the Museum’s Department of Photography. The MoMA property will be led by two unique Rayograph works by Man Ray from 1923 and 1928.

• Christie’s will present a dedicated photographs sale from the esteemed collection of Emily and Jerry Spiegel. The first sale was offered as a major collection during the May Post-War and Contemporary Evening Sale, garnering staggering results in excess of $125 million. This dedicated October single-owner sale encompasses 40 exquisite lots with property by Alfred Stieglitz, André Kertész, Man Ray, Paul Strand, Paul Outerbridge Jr., Walker Evans, and more.
