PITTSBURGH, PA.- The Andy Warhol Museum has appointed Danielle Linzer as its curator of education & interpretation. Linzer was previously director of access and community programs at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City. Linzer assumes her role at The Warhol on July 18, 2016.

At the Whitney, Linzer developed and implemented community outreach projects and audience development efforts, as well as a variety of institutional accessibility and inclusion initiatives. Linzer also served as steering committee member at large and steering committee co-chair for the Museum Access Consortium in New York. Prior to joining the Whitney, Linzer was the education coordinator for the Lower East Side Tenement Museum in New York.

“The Warhol is thrilled to welcome Danielle Linzer to the team,” says Eric Shiner, The Warhol’s director. “Her groundbreaking study on the influence of art education on teenagers makes her a leader in the field of museum education, just as her commitment to accessibility, community engagement, and equity in the arts makes her a natural fit for The Warhol.”

“I’m so pleased to be joining the incredible team at The Warhol at such an exciting moment,” says Linzer. “I believe in the power of art to change lives and transform communities, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to share Warhol’s singular legacy through innovative and inspiring learning experiences that engage a truly diverse 21st-century audience.”
