MIAMI, FLA.- After an amazing first run, the USs leading Ibero-american art fair,
PINTA returns to the Magic City during the 13th year edition of Art Basel Miami Beach. The fair showcases the best of abstract, concrete, neo-concrete, kinetic and conceptual art movements. The fair, which is being held from December 2 6 and takes place at Mana Wynwood located at 318 NW 23 Street.
PINTA Miami fosters cultural collaborations through five different sections. PINTA Contemporary is curated by a Curatorial Committee that gives priority to contemporary artists with the objective of creating a dialogue between established and emerging artists who share similar interests within their contexts. Curated by world renowned curator, Osbel Suarez, PINTA Modern showcases a continent away from its usual stereotype to one much closer to a rational realm and modern utopia by exploring lesser known artists who transgress the norm with intentions that are more organic, political, and conceptual. José Antonio Navarrete and Rodrigo Alonso come together to curate PINTA Photography, a special section devoted to Latin American artistic photography produced by emerging artists between the 1920s-1930s and the 1970s. Curated by Roc Laseca, PINTA Drawing looks to get acquainted with the drawing practices that have developed in the region and that come into contact with other disciplines such as installation, sculpture, video or performance. PINTA Project Time Sensitive presents a series of artistic proposals that explore the incorporation of time in the work of art, focusing on works that are sensitive to the relation between the temporal and the spatial. Jesus Fuenmayor curates this section.
We are very excited to bring PINTA Miami back for a second year, said director Diego Costa Peuser, Executive Director of Pinta, we want PINTA Miami to continue growing and cementing a space in the worlds art scene during one of the cities most exciting times. This year, PINTA Miami welcomes over 50 of the most prestigious art galleries from Latin America, Spain and Portugal in addition to a series of conferences and conversations known as PINTA Forum and curated by Roc Laseca.
