First edition of Barcelona Gallery Weekend announced
21 of the city's contemporary and avant-garde art galleries will be opening their doors together to present the very best of their programmes.

BARCELONA.- Barcelona Gallery Weekend is an event for art enthusiasts, collectors, professionals and artists, created with the intention of becoming the annual art meeting in Barcelona. During this four-day event, Barcelona will be displaying all of its artistic effervescence, with over 60 outstanding artists presented in 40 art spaces.

21 of the city's contemporary and avant-garde art galleries will be opening their doors together to present the very best of their programmes.

The curatorial team Latitudes is responsible for curating the Compositions programme, comprising five temporary interventions at unique venues by artists from or working in Barcelona: David Bestué, Dora García, Pere Llobera, Jordi Mitjà, Rasmus Nilausen and Daniel Steegmann Mangrané.

Barcelona Gallery Weekend will be complemented by the programmes of the main museums and institutions, which will be offering special opening times and initiatives adapted to the event's public. Some non-profit spaces will also join the programme to offer another viewpoint of local art, seen in its fields of work and research, and present some lesser-known faces on the city's art scene.
