Maison Goyard and Louis Vuitton.

MT. CRAWFORD, VA.- Jeffrey S. Evans & Associates announces its Spring Auction of Antiques, Fine and Decorative Arts on April 25, 2015. With items gleaned from numerous East Coast estates and collections, they will offer unreserved a large selection of 18th – 20th century American, English, and Continental furniture; Asian art, porcelain, and decorative accessories; paintings, prints, and statuary; oriental carpets; Victoriana; music boxes; Arts & Crafts material and art pottery; lighting and clocks; fine silver and jewelry; ceramics including Limoges, Prussia, and Dresden; a fine collection of Battersea enamel boxes; plus much more.

Highlighting an extensive group of Asian ceramics and decorative arts in the auction is a complete set of thin-walled and finely painted Chinese Export porcelain Famille Rose 12 months tea bowls. Additional Asian material in the sale includes other fine porcelains, monochrome yellow-glazed wares from the Daoguang period, Kutani Satsuma wares and other ceramics, bronzes, furniture, cloisonné, and snuff bottles. Many of these objects come from multi-generation collections and will be offered here for the first time in many decades.

Arts and Crafts material is also well represented in the sale and includes many fine examples in a variety of categories, such as furniture, art pottery, and decorative arts. A bronze sculpture of a female dancer or “Tanzerin” by Bruno Zach (1891 – 1935), a Rookwood jardinière, decorated by Kataro Shirayamadani (1865 – 1948), and pieces by Stickley and Limbert stand out as highlights in this group. Twentieth century lighting will include an extremely rare Unique Art Glass & Metal Co. (Brooklyn, NY) Periwinkle globular hanging hall light. Other 20th century design material includes makers such as Maison Goyard and Louis Vuitton.

The auction will also offer a diverse array of fine silver including Tiffany, Gorham, and contemporary makers. A beautifully decorated Russian enamel-on-silver sugar bowl with swing handle, marked by assayer Anatoly Apollonovich Artsybashev and dated 1894, is an outstanding example from an important period of Russian decorative arts and sits at the forefront of the silver category in the auction.

The complete catalogue will be posted around April 15.
