FORT WORTH, TX.- The Amon Carter Museum of American Art announces today that Lyndsay Hoover has joined the museum’s leadership team as the director of external affairs. In this new position, Hoover oversees the development and public relations departments.

“With 15 years of experience in communications, fund development and nonprofit management, we believe that Lyndsay is the ideal person to lead the museum’s external affairs team,” says Andrew J. Walker. “We are delighted that she will guide our efforts as we look to engage with the community in new and exciting ways.”

Hoover began her career at the Fort Worth Zoo, where she led the Zoo’s communications and fundraising efforts. During her tenure, she successfully completed an 18 million dollar capital campaign and helped triple local and regional media coverage. Her background also includes work at the Presbyterian Night Shelter, where she created the organization’s first development and public relations strategies and served as the interim executive director. Most recently, Hoover served as a consultant with the development firm M. Gale & Associates and was part of the team that helped execute the Amon Carter’s 50th Anniversary Excellence in Education campaign.

“This position is a unique combination of a personal interest and a professional skill set,” Hoover says. “My support of and involvement with the Amon Carter dates back 10 years and every interaction has fostered my admiration for both the museum’s collection and its commitment to excellence.”

Hoover graduated cum laude from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism. She is a longtime member of the Fort Worth Junior League and was recently named “40 under 40” by the Fort Worth Business Press.
