NEW YORK, NY.- Hixenbaugh Ancient Art announced the relocation of its ancient art gallery to the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan in New York City. After nine years on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, the gallery is moving to the center of New York’s robust art market.

Hixenbaugh Ancient Art is dedicated to handling fine authentic art from a variety of ancient civilizations that flourished in Europe, North Africa, Western Asia and the Americas. The gallery is led by Randall Hixenbaugh. Mr. Hixenbaugh is a member of several international art dealers organizations including the International Association of Dealers in Ancient Art (IADAA). The gallery specializes in the artistic achievements of our collective ancient ancestors, including the Egyptians, Greeks, Romans, Inca and Maya.

At Hixenbaugh Ancient Art, we believe that everyone should own at least one object from antiquity. Collecting ancient art is a personally enriching experience. The collector is first drawn in by the beauty and mystery of ancient art. One cannot help but be amazed at the remarkable skill and quality workmanship of the ancient hand. However, possessing an ancient artifact provides many tangible benefits beyond pure aesthetics. The intimacy of owning an object triggers the desire to enhance ones knowledge about the object and the culture associated with the piece. By increasing exposure to works of distant cultures, we highlight the common bond we all share.

Collectors provide a vital role in the preservation ancient artifacts. Collectors act as custodians of the past, links in a chain, preserving the past for future generations by passing their collections on to their heirs, reselling them to eager collectors, or donating them to museums. In doing so, the collector of ancient art reaps the many benefits of acquiring truly unique and thought provoking objects that have come down to us from the ancients, whose influences pervade every aspect of the modern world.
