Crawford Dress Featured in Film and Posters
Crawford adorned her famous polka-dot dress in her masterpiece Mildred Pierce. The light nude-colored rayon dress features polka dots in a darker nude shade. The design includes a slightly A-line cut skirt, long sleeves, pleated bodice and square neckline flanked by a simple bow on either side. Crawford also wore the dress in the Mildred Pierce promotional posters.
Crawfords career appeared to be on the wane after leaving the glamorous Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures. She signed with Warner Brothers where she worked with Casablanca director Michael Curtiz in Mildred Pierce earning an Oscar for Best Actress at the 1946 Academy Awards.
In 1999, the American Film Institute named Crawford named the 10th greatest female star of all-time.
