BLENHEIM, ON.- RM Auctions, the world’s largest collector car auction house for investment-quality automobiles, returns to Hershey, Pennsylvania, October 10–11, for its annual sale at the Hershey Lodge. Coinciding with the celebrated AACA Eastern Regional Fall Meet, the sale is a featured highlight of the weekend and a mainstay on the North American collector car calendar.

In 2012, RM continued its strong track record in Hershey generating more than $10.7 million in sales, with a remarkable 95 percent of all lots sold. Top honors went to a historic 1931 Duesenberg Model J Sport Sedan offered from the distinguished Ray Bowersox Collection, which realized $1,292,500. This year’s event is set to build upon the tradition, lifting the gavel on more than 100 historic motor cars, with an emphasis on outstanding Brass and Classic Era American automobiles.

Early Brass Era highlights for this year’s event are led by a beautifully detailed and restored 1910 Pierce-Arrow 48-SS Seven-Passenger Touring, chassis 7940, backed by an impressive history, which includes single-family ownership for more than 60 years. In 1957, it participated in the Glidden Tours, where it won the AAA Award, and it is also a First Junior AACA award winner, amongst many other accolades (Est. $550,000–$750,000). Joining early Brass Era highlights is an extremely original 1911 Packard Model UEFR ‘30’ Limousine that has impressive patina and a fresh mechanical service (Est. $175,000–$250,000), as well as a charming 1912 Dunbar Model 1200 Popcorn Wagon, which is one of only nine known to exist and is completely and accurately restored (Est. $175,000–$200,000).

The offering at RM’s Hershey sale will also include a number of great examples from the Classic Era led by a beautiful, Dietrich-designed 1934 Packard Eight Convertible Victoria with numerous Best of Show awards, including the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in 1975. Believed to have been owned new by Marie Dressler, it was also previously included in the renowned Milhous Collection (Est. $150,000–$250,000). Of the same year, the sale will also include a remarkably original 1934 Packard Twelve Seven-Passenger Limousine. As one of few surviving examples, the car has been well cared-for over the years, and it is complete with its original paint and interior (Est. $80,000–$100,000).
