ISTANBUL.- Antik A.S., the leading auction house in Turkey, will offer exceptional paintings by the most important Modern & Contemporary Turkish Artists. The offering features prime examples by the titans of the Modern & Contemporary Turkish Artists – Fahrel Nisa Zeid, Erol Akyavaş, Burhan Doğançay, Mubin Orhon, Ferruh Başağa and Adnan Çoker. The auction will take place on November 18, 2012 at the Swissotel the Bosphorus and will present selected 225 lots among the most important works of the top Turkish artists.

Highlights will be exhibited in Istanbul until 18th of November. One of the highlights of the sale is Erol Akyavas’s “Fallen City” a monumental canvas dated 1982. (137x264 cm.) The work has an estimation of 300,000 – 400,000 USD and is expected to generate tremendous excitement for the buyers. “Born to be free” another spectacular canvas by Burhan Doğançay who wears the crown as the most expensive living artist in Turkey, has a starting price of 250,000 – 350,000 USD. Another highlight of the sale is from the leading abstact artists Mubin Orhon’s oil on canvas painting dated 1963 (150x150 cm.) with a starting price of 400,000 – 500,000 USD, a monumental abstract work by Ferruh Başağa’s “Blue Mediterranean” will be offered in the auction with 250,000 – 350,000 USD estimation.

Fahrel Nissa Zeid’s “Polish Village on the Bosphorus” which has never been in the market since 1944 exhibition, is one of the extraordinary works that will be offered in sale. Artam, invites all those who appreciate quality art to view the display before the auction date. Adnan Çoker will be represented with 5 museum quality work totaling 500,000 – 600,000 USD

“Homage to calligraphy V”, which was painted by Burhan Doğançay in 1984 has an estimation of 100,000 – 150,000 USD. Besides these lots, works by Modern Turkish art's most important representatives, Ömer Uluç, Mehmet Güleryüz, İlhan Koman, Alaettin Aksoy, Neşe Erdok, Hakkı Anlı, Abddurrahman Öztoprak, Güngör Taner, Avni Arbaş, Orhan Peker, Neşe Erdok, Cihat Burak, Komet, Turan Erol, Ergin Inan, Kemal Onsoy, Gungor Taner, Asim Işler, Abddurrahman Oztoprak, Zekai Ormancı, Mustafa Ata, Canan Tolon, Ansen, Bedri Baykam and Azade Koker works will also be offered in the sale.

The auction which will be held at the Swissotel The Bosphorus on November 18, 2012 is organized by Olgac Artam. Presenting a very important auction in the field of Modern and Contemporary Turkish Art, featuring works by artists who were great masters in their periods. A special catalogue has been prepared for the collection that will be on displayed at the Antik A.S. main building, until 18th of November.
