NEW YORK, NY.- Christies announced the sale of Multiples by Matisse from the Matisse Family Collections, an online-only sale launching on November 19 and ending December 4. The sale comprises 96 lots that present a fascinating cross-section of the artists graphic oeuvre, and includes drypoints and etchings from his early career through to the large-scale lithographs and aquatints of his later years. All lots come directly from the artists family an impeccable provenance.
New collectors as well as established connoisseurs will not only find a range of techniques, styles and subjects, but a wide range of price points, from $50,000 down to only $1000, ideal for those beginning their collection or looking for the perfect holiday gift.
The e-catalogue, packed with information on the artist, will be available for browsing on November 12, and the sale itself will go live on November 19. Fans of Matisse from all over the globe will be able to track and bid on their favorite lots with the click of a mouse. The online auction is expected to realize in excess of $800,000.
