LYNDHURST, OH.- Contessa Gallery announces David Drebin: Photographs; an exhibition celebrating the artist's newest series and the exclusive U.S. release of Drebin's newest book, Beautiful Disasters. The works of this exhibition capture the elements of beauty and romance found in everyday life, presenting feelings of mystery, love, lust, and excitement. In Drebin's photographs, the viewer becomes the voyeur as Drebin provides them with glimpses of captivating panoramic landscapes and scenes of glamorous women staged in exotic and mysterious locations. Drebin's models intrigue viewers with their simultaneous elements of loveliness, eroticism, loneliness, humor, and melancholy.
This is Drebin's third one-man show at Contessa Gallery. Since his first show at Contessa Gallery in 2010, David Drebin: Dramatic, Epic, Cinematic, and the gallery's 2011 The Photography of David Drebin, his career has continued to skyrocket. Drebin received a major review in ArtNews, and his photography was featured alongside the giants of photography including Penn, Avedon, and Meisel in Fashion!, one of the most comprehensive exhibitions of fashion photography ever mounted (Fotografiska Museet in Stockholm).
Drebin's photography has earned him an international reputation, and his admirers include Sir Elton John and Diane Von Furstenberg. Drebin's work has been published in magazines such as Vanity Fair, GQ, ESPN Magazine, Elle, and The New York Times Magazine. Drebin developed an interest in photography while studying to be an actor, when he realized that he preferred directing and capturing an imaginative moment on film to being in front of the camera.
This exhibition celebrates Drebin's success, and the opening reception will be an opportunity for collectors to acquire Drebin's newest photography and meet the artist. Beautiful Disasters and a special edition of the book which includes a limited edition Drebin print will be available for purchase during the reception.
