Beautiful Concertina book illustrates history of flight and aviation in one extravagantly long panorama
High Times is an exquisitely designed and printed concertina book which folds out to a spectacular 4.5 foot panorama detailing the history of flight and aviation.

NEW YORK, NY.- Nobrow Press, an independent graphic arts and comic publisher based in London, announced the U.S. publication of
High Times: A History of Aviation, the first book from the acclaimed Berlin-based illustration duo Golden Cosmos a/k/a Daniel Doltz and Doris Freogofas, and their maiden book collaboration with Nobrow Press.

High Times is an exquisitely designed and printed concertina book which folds out to a spectacular 4.5 foot panorama detailing the history of flight and aviation from the legendary attempts of Icarus to the revolutionary innovations of the Jet Age. The wraparound cover presents illustrated and written entries for each panel of the concertina detailing notable benchmarks in the history and mythology of aviation.

High Times will publish in October 2012 just in time for the holiday season. It is a fantastic education tool as well as a dazzling work of art that can be enjoyed and savored by the entire family. It can be read as a book, displayed on a mantelpiece, or even framed as a print. At a bargain price of $16, you can buy one to read and one to mount or hang on the wall!

High Times celebrates humanity's desire to fly over the ages, highlighting such events and inventions as Leonard da Vinci's failed attempt to build the first parachute in 1490, the around the world trip in 21 days of the "Graf Zeppelin" in 1929, the maiden voyage of "The Flyer" in 1903 built by the Wrights Brothers, the fighter planes and bombers of WWI and WWII, the first "jumbo jets" of the late 1960s, and the end of the Space Shuttle program in 2011. Fabulously stylish with a super cool retro look and feel, the book pays homage to the bold patterns and geometry of early Russian constructivism, along with a nod to mid century French commercial art.

Golden Cosmos aka Doris Freigofas and Daniel Dolz live and work in Berlin, Germany where they met while studying Graphic Design and Illustration at university. Their deep knowledge of traditional printmaking techniques and experiences in self publishing have won them widespread critical acclaim in illustration circles worldwide. They share a studio, a former Kindergarten, with their dog Mimi. Together they have worked on illustration for The New York Times, Die Zeit, Nobrow Press and many others. Their self-published screen printed books and limited edition prints have won them fans all over the world and led to prizes such as a Gold Medal from 3x3 ProShow 2011 in New York.

Nobrow, established in 2008, is an independent graphic arts and comic publisher based in Shoreditch, London. Heralded for fine production values, quality design and commitment to exciting new talent, the company has fast become regarded as a leader in its field.

Nobrow Leporello is a new series of illustrated books in a concertina format that aim to push the boundaries of print and illustration. Other recent releases in this series are: Rise & Fall by Micah Lidberg, a beautiful panorama of life, detailing the rise and fall of the dinosaurs, and Swan Lake by Ping Zhu, a magical night at the ballet, both front and backstage.
