BERLIN.- art berlin contemporary announced that the 5th edition of the art fair will be taking place from 13th - 16th of September 2012.
abc is an initiative from and organized by nine Berlin galleries: Galerie Guido W. Baudach, Mehdi Chouakri, Galerie Kamm, Klosterfelde , Meyer Riegger, Galerie Neu, Neugerriemschneider, Esther Schipper, Zak Branicka.
abc takes into account the specificity of Berlin as one of the world’s most important cities for contemporary art production. With more than 150 individual presentations by the world’s most promising contemporary artists, abc continues to be an innovative model for presentation as well as organization. Aware of the complex relationship between local reality and the global market, abc is the adequate response to a context that is defined first and foremost by production rather than market domination.
In addition to over 150 individual presentations of new works, the ca. 3000 sqm entrance hall of abc will be given over to 30 cultural producers from across the world ranging from publishers, cinemas and distributors, to architects, record labels and urban planners.
Furthermore, New York’s not for profit "Artists Space" has been invited to curate two "interventions" as well as organizing a series of keynote lectures parallel to the 5th edition of abc.
