DAMASCUS.- On January 17,
Ayyam Auctions will present the sixth edition of its Young Collectors Auction and twelfth overall auction. Featuring more than 70 lots from many of the top emerging and established artists in the Middle East. This forthcoming sale targets new and young collectors with estimates ranging between $1,000 and $10,000 as well as seasoned collectors looking to discover that next new star.
With the majority of estimates in the $3,000 - $7,000 range, this sale will feature both Arab and Iranian artists in a variety of mediums including paintings, sculptures, photography and limited editions. The selection will include revered names of the region such as Samia Halaby, Huda Lutfi and Asaad Arabi, rising contemporary stars such as Shadi Ghadirian, Qaswra Hafez and Oussama Baalbaki and new discoveries like Lara Zankoul and Mohammad Badr. Further highlights of the auction will include fifteen beautiful works from the Nazir Ismail collection, representing an exceptional view of the Damascus art scene over the past seventy years.
A preview of the lots being auctioned off will be on display at the Ayyam Art Center in Al Quoz from January 9 to January 16, where specialists will be available to answer any questions.
