LONDON.- Art Antiques London was launched in June 2010 to wide acclaim, winning praise, in particular, for its central location, light and airy atmosphere and stylish presentation. The boutique Fair incorporates The International Ceramic Fair and Seminar, which this year celebrates its 30th anniversary. Art Antiques London is aimed at collectors and connoisseurs, and, in 2010, attracted a crowd of knowledgeable international buyers as well as many new enthusiasts from South Kensington. The Fair had a buzz and air of excitement from the moment the doors opened for the Private Preview on June 9th 2010 until the end of the Fair some seven days later.
We were delighted with the launch of Art Antiques London, which exceeded all our expectations. The location and size were perfect - it looked good, it felt buoyant and there were serious buyers. The compliments have flowed and the interest in the Fair has been immense, says Anna Haughton of Haughton International Fairs.
The total visitor figure of 14,500 gave a visitor ratio of 230 visitors per stand, the highest of any of the June Fairs. Almost three quarters of last years dealers have already signed contracts for the coming year and the Fairs undoubted success is attracting interest from new participants. Amongst those who will be taking part for the first time this year are Ellison Fine Art (portrait miniatures), Peter Cameron (silver), Ted Few (works of art) and Millington Adams (Fine Antique Furniture). They will be joining those returning to the Fair, including William Agnew & Co Ltd, Sandra Cronan, MacConnal-Mason, Stephen Ongpin Fine Art, Raffety & Walwyn, Samina Inc., Dragesco-Cramoisan, Susan Ollemans Oriental Art and E & H Manners.
The Private Preview of the June 2010 Fair was followed by The First Night Party in aid of the Bush Theatre, where a fashionable crowd of well-heeled Londoners enjoyed an evening of fund-raising, performance and culture at one of the most talked about parties of the Summer Season. This years Private Preview and First Night Party will be held on June 8th, 2011.
Art Antiques London will again be working with The Friends of The Hermitage, Waddesdon Manor, and The Dorchester Hotel and is busy negotiating a number of other exciting new partnerships. The Fairs restaurant, which was described as having the best location in London, situated with a magnificent view over the Albert Memorial, will this year once again dazzle visitors with both its delicious food and breathtaking view.
