PHotoEspa馻 Announces Portfolio Reviews to be Held in Colombia and Nicaragua; Launch a New Online Curating Competition

MADRID.- Trasatl醤tica PHotoEspa馻 and the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) have released the names of the photographers chosen to participate in the portfolio reviews to be held in Colombia and Nicaragua. The Colombia review, organised in association with the Spanish Cooperation Training Centre in Cartagena de Indias, will take place on 19 and 20 November, and the Cultural Centre of Spain in Nicaragua will host the reviews on 10 and 11 December.
Forty photographers from nine different countries—Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, the United States, Mexico, Nicaragua, Peru and Venezuela—have been selected to participate in this professional encounter.

The photographers selected for the Colombia review are Simon Altkorn (Uruguay), Andrea Carolina Ardila (Colombia), Ricardo Barcellos (Brazil), Iv醤 Castiblanco (Colombia), Renan Cepeda (Brasil), M Elena D韆z (Mexico), Mart韓 Javier Estol (Argentina), Marco Antonio Fredes (Chile), Edgar Garc閟 (Colombia), Santiago Jos Hafford (Argentina), Morfi Jim閚ez (Peru), Pedro Luiz Motta (Brazil), Candelaria Magliano (Argentina), Jose Ernesto Mu駃z (Mexico), Carlos Pineda (Colombia), Jos Luis Rodr韌uez (Colombia), Luis Sergio (Peru), Juan Francisco Toro (Venezuela), 羖varo Vilela (Brazil) y Luciana Whitaker de Assump玢o (Brazil).

The photographers who will participate in the Nicaragua review are Eunice Adorno (Mexico), Rodrigo Alfaro (Argentina), Daniel Ram髇 Baca (Argentina), Daniel Alberto Barraco (Argentina), Gilvan Barreto (Brazil), Sebasti醤 Casta馿da (Peru), Le髇 Esteban F閘ix (Peru), Mayerling Garc韆 (Nicaragua), Diego Levy (Argentina), Pedro Linger (Argentina), Myriam Meloni (Italy), Margarita Isabel Montealegre (Nicaragua), Mauricio Palos (Mexico), Leonardo Ram韗ez (Venezuela), Oswaldo Jos Rivas (Nicaragua), Alejandro Rivas (Mexico), Izan Luiz Rodrigues (Brazil), Darcy Schumacker (Brazil), Ver髇ica Somlo (Argentina) y Bruno Vilela (Brazil).

Submissions now being accepted for the online curating competition
Trasatl醤tica PHotoEspa馻 and the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) invite curators of any nationality to participate in an online curating competition. The challenge is to come up with a curatorial project using the works of the 40 Latin American photographers chosen to participate in the portfolio reviews that will take place at the Spanish Cooperation Training Centre in Cartagena de Indias and the Cultural Centre of Spain in Nicaragua.

After reviewing all of the proposals received, the six finalists will be selected and published on the Trasatl醤tica website (www.trasatlanticaphe.es). The jury will also choose a winning project which may be produced as an itinerant exhibition and shown at the AECID’S various cultural centres throughout Latin America.
