LITTLE ROCK, ARK.- After more than seven years with the
Arkansas Arts Center, Dr. Ellen Nan Plummer announced her resignation today, effective immediately, as Executive Director of the museum in order to pursue new opportunities.
Its been a privilege to serve as the Executive Director of the Arkansas Arts Center, said Plummer. My tenure in Arkansas has been some of the best years of my career. However, Im looking forward to enjoying some down time as I pursue some new challenges both professionally and personally. I will look back on my years at the Arkansas Arts Center with many fond memories.
Arkansas Arts Center Board Chairman Bobby Tucker said, We thank Nan for her contributions and leadership during her tenure. Through this period, Nan oversaw an expansion of the museums budget, staff and notable exhibits such as Picasso, Andy Warhol, and the current World of Pharaohs. We appreciate her service and wish Nan well in her new endeavors.
Tucker also announced that Joseph Lampo, Deputy Director of Programs and Curator of Paintings, Prints and Photography will assume the position as Interim Director.
The Arkansas Arts Center board will soon conduct a nationwide search for a new Executive Director, said Tucker. However, we will place no arbitrary timelines on our search, instead looking for the right person to fill this position. We have much confidence in Joe Lampos leadership and the very talented staff that we currently have in place. Operations will continue as usual.
